... 4 days later, and I'm still thinking about Nimbooda. While spending the afternoon around Prospect Heights, I walked by Nimbooda after finding the restaurant I intended to visit closed for repairs. Truly a happy accident! The flavors are extraordinary, and the service above and beyond. Please add Nimbooda to your list if you're visiting the neighborhood - you won't regret it!

Definitely 5 stars. The best Indian food in Brooklyn! The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was small, but I was seated right away. The chicken biryani was enough for 2 people and had a decent ratio of rice to chicken. The rice was warm, spicy, and authentic. The crispy onions on top added a good crunch to each bite. The biryani would pair well with raita, next time I would try that. The chicken tikka masala came with rice and was also a large size portion. The curry had a unique sweet flavor that I really enjoyed. I've ordered the curry for delivery many times and it always been exceptional.

It's a small but fancy little place, quiet with not very many people when I went. Very few drink options but the food, ugh so tasty. My friend and I got the Samosa, Aloo Papri, Malai kofta and Matter paneer. I personally wish they had been spicier but since they are all traditionally pretty mild dishes I didn't mind (especially since the friend I was with has very low spice tolerance, lol). There was only one FOH staff who definitely zoned out a good bit but I don't blame him, the atmosphere was very calming. He was very busy taking care of delivery drivers and I do wish it was a bit easier to get his attention but eh, not a big deal. Would definitely wanna go back sometime.

Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Experience: 5/5 My party of three came on a Sunday evening and were able to get seated immediately. Right off the bat, service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive in filling our waters and making sure that our experience was as frictionless as possible (checking in / serving the next dish at the right time / etc). We ordered the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, samosas, and aloo paratha. The tikka masala was more tomato-y than rich in spice flavor, but the saag paneer was a really pleasant surprise. The samosas were good and so was the paratha. The portion sizes are generous, and our dishes came with basmati rice. Prior to the meal, we got some papadum (chips), which was so delicately crispy, and delicious with the sauces. At the end of the meal, our waiter gave us rice pudding as well. I had a wonderful experience, and I would recommend this place to others.

This is my new favorite local spot for Indian food! We came on Sunday for dinner and the place was empty, so we were initially concerned, but the food and service were exceptional! Although they advertise themselves as vegetarian, they also have meat dishes. We tried their samosas as an appetizer, which were delicious. The waiter explained the different sauces to us and the presentation was nice. We also ordered 2 entrees, which served enough food to serve 3 people. They come with rice, which is a plus. The waiter even refilled our rice halfway for us. At the end, he surprised us some rice pudding desserts in these cute bowls. The rice pudding was a perfect sweetness and a refreshing way to end the meal. Overall, the meal was delicious and affordable. Im excited to come back and try some of their other dishes.

Nimbooda Indian Cuisine makes vegetarian dishes that are so delicious, you may forget meat exists. This week I tried the Saag Paneer Lunch. The lunch included a generous amount of rice plus Dal Makhani (Black Lentil and Kidney Beans). The Dal was one of the best Ive ever had, ten stars ! Full of flavor and spices but not overly spicy or salty. Perfect. The Saag was also good, nice texture and not too oily. The garlic naan was fine, as expected. I wish that restaurants would post nutritional values because I felt good after eating the food from here. I've read that Dal is one of the healthier foods to eat - it contains protein, fiber, and vitamins B6, and folate. Foods (especially some curries) can be very high in saturated fat. For that reason, I try to order Dal. It's rare to find a restaurant that has really great Dal. I was very impressed by Nimbooda's Dal - uniquely delicious. Will definitely be returning for more.

This has honestly become my go-to Indian restaurant in the BK area, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I definitely order this once a week. I've tried a lot of stuff on the menu, and I've loved it all. Definitely be aware that the food already has a good kick to it, and I once asked for everything to be extra spicy and I was not let down. They added a ton of green chilies, so if you can't handle that, maybe stick to the normal spice-level they provide. My favorite thing here is the shrimp curry. It's so flavorful and comes with a good 8-9 pieces of shrimp. The chicken and paneer tikka masalas are also really good and have a little sweet tang to cut the heat. I also love the corn saag, which is an interesting combination that I haven't tried before but is also really tasty. Appetizer-wise, I've tried the chicken manchurian and eggplant chaat. The chicken was really good but a little soggy by the time it got delivered, but the eggplant chaat was out of this world. I've never had that before, but the thinly sliced and fried baby eggplant topped with yogurt and Indian spices and sauces really hit the spot. Overall, a great Indian place with pretty decent prices and stellar food. I definitely recommend.

Simply amazing! Fly out of Florida to celebrate a Virgo's bday and as picky as their taste are - this place hit most marks. When we walked up no one else was there so it was like a private event for our small group. The waiter was extra friendly and everything came out perfectly timed. Place was super clean and with the open door and mild storm outside the circulate of cool summer air was nice. Everything was delicious - especially the Samosa, Paneer Tikka, Lobster Curry, Paneer Tikki Masala, Garlic Naan, Gulab Jaamun, and Rice Pudding. The my food was just amount of spice and it sizzled for the bday girl that seems to have a dragon tongue. The only slights were with the drinks. The lassi was kinda chunky and not that flavorful but loved that they let us open a bottle of wine that we purchased from the store across the street. By the time the rain was over, our bellies were full and we walked out more than pleased. Good food and great service - can't wait to return again.
